Introductory Notes

These Notes are user guides for various aspects of the School's computing service. They will help you use the Microsoft Windows, Linux and Macintosh systems within the School of Computer Science & Informatics, and help you configure your own workstation or laptop to access and use our facilities.

The Notes are listed below in 10 categories.

They are available as on-line HTML pages, and as Adobe Acrobat files (PDF). Documents labelled NEW! have been created or amended within the last 3 months.

The School's supported Linux workstation version has changed to Ubuntu 10.04 for 2011-12.
